The Symptoms

The flu virus attacks  the respiratory tract and is transmitted from person to person by the air, probably by coughing or sneezing. The flu symptoms might be :

  1. Fever - diagnosed with an increase of internal body temperature to levels which are higher then normal (37°C). and  can be treated by paracetamol and ibuprofen, if you are already taking some forms of medication  you must check that these medications are suitable to take together, for example people who suffer from Crohn's disease must not take medications from a group called NSAID and ibuprofen for example is from this group.
  2. Headache - described as a condition of pain in the head, sometimes in the neck or upper back pain. can be treated by painkillers like paracetamol or members of the NSAID class, but pay attantion that in most cases you won't need any medication treatment at all.
  3. Fatigue - you will feel heavy and sleepy. Don't try to fight your body, you need to rest.
  4. Dry Cough - described as an action of the body in order to get rid of all the substances that are irritating the air passages. Treated with cough suppressants.
  5. Nasal congestion - described as the blockage of the nasal passages usually due to excessive secretion of mucus which caused by a viru.

Sneezing -  described as the semi-autonomous, is a convulsive explosion of air from the nose and mouth. Actually one sneeze sends from two to five thousand bacteria-filled droplets to the air. Treated by a medical named sternutation.

Most of the people who are getting the flu will fully recover within one to two weeks  but there are some cases that can develop complications which are developed from the flu. Millions of people in the US (10%-20%) are infected by the flu every year. The flu complications are causing an average of 36,000 people to die each year, and 114,000 peoples are admitted to hospital because of the flu.
